Peter McCutcheon is one of Canada's best lyric tenors. He began
his musical career as the protégé of internationally acclaimed
tenor Ben Heppner and is a student renowned Canadian tenor Mark
Dubois. Cast as Jinx by Stuart Ross in the original Toronto production
of Forever Plaid, McCutcheon won critical acclaim onstage and
played the role a total of 976 times. He went on to play Raoul
in the Phantom of the Opera, Livent, Toronto; John Reid Jr. in
the world premiere production Jane Eyre, Mirvish Productions,
Toronto; and Charlie Dalrymple in Brigadoon, Village Light Opera,
New York.
Comfortable singing Scottish, opera, classical and popular music, McCutcheon's
singing style has garnered comparisons to Josh Groban and John
McDermott. His voice, however, is uniquely his own, and he has
been recognized for his subtle and feeling approach to singing
the tender emotional content of an earlier era. (WholeNote Magazine).
Peter has recorded two solo CD's: Grace (2003) and Land of My
Heart (2005).
